The laser cutting machine of stainless steel sheet has a large proportion in industrial production. The main difference between stainless steel and low carbon copper is that the composition is different and the cutting mechanism is different.
The iron in stainless steel reacts with oxygen during cutting. The oxidation of chromium has the properties of preventing oxygen from entering the molten material and reducing the amount of oxygen that enters the melting layer, and the melting layer oxidation is not complete, and the reaction is reduced, so the cutting speed is reduced. Compared with low carbon steel, stainless steel cutting requires high laser power and high oxygen pressure. Although the stainless steel cutting can achieve satisfactory cutting effect, it is difficult to obtain the cut seam with no slime. The use of inert gas as an auxiliary gas cutting stainless steel can obtain the non-oxidized cutting edge, which is directly used for welding, but its cutting speed is about 10% lower than that of oxygen as auxiliary gas.
The most important technological parameters affecting the quality of stainless steel cutting are cutting speed, laser power and oxygen pressure.
